Brenda

I was born into a Christian family and I became a Christian at the age of eight. I was married and have three wonderful children. I was a primary school teacher for 31 years.

In 2007 I took early retirement in order to spend time with my husband. Very suddenly, just two weeks after my retirement, my husband died. This left me in a place where, although I knew I had hope in the Lord, I felt as if I had no hope and no future.

In 2010 I had the opportunity to go on a mission trip to Zambia and my life has not been the same since. I really enjoyed working with people in Africa, bringing hope in practical ways.

I have since been on mission trips to India and Uganda. It was during my mission trips to Uganda that I started to make many good friends and indeed I adopted one young man, Andrew, as my African son.

I wanted to be more effective in the work I was doing so the idea of starting my own charity was formed. I am so grateful to the rest of my trustees for making this become a reality, and to Andrew, who helps us to administer the work of Seeds of Grace when I am in England.
